Aruba Travel Guide

Aruba Travel Guide

Hey guys, this next travel guide will be one of my favorites to write about since I have to be this one happy island four times in the last fifteen years of my life. My family goes every since they have a timeshare in Aruba. I haven’t myself been in a few years but I wanted to share twelve reasons why Aruba is your next vacation. I am going to mention several things what you should do, basically your complete guide to the island of Aruba, starting on where to stay.

Where to Stay:

Marriott Ocean Club
This five star resort is completely gorgeous with it’s ocean view rooms & location right on the beach. We usually get a one bedroom villa, king sized bed, with a sofa bed & oceanfront with a balcony.  You can satisfy all your dining needs in the swim-up pool bar, 24 hour cafe, sports bar and grill overlooking Palm Beach, Aruba. There is complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the resort. For more info visit Marriott’s website or go to Hotels to find more of a reasonable price.

Where to Eat:

 Texas De Brazil Steakhouse
It is an upscale Brazilian eatery featuring all-you-can-eat grilled meat carved tableside & a salad bar. It is only open for dinner, but it is sure one of my favorites.

Iguana Joes

If you want something more laid back then head to Iguana Joes! It has been Aruba’s most popular and critically acclaimed Caribbean restaurant. Joe’s bar is the home of the legendary, deliciously smooth and refreshing Pink Iguana. The extensive menu features fresh mahi-mahi, coconut  shrimp, chicken enchiladas, island jerk fire-roasted chicken and world renowned Argentine grass-fed filet mignon. This is definitely a must for the whole family!

Faroblanco Restaurant

Now if you want to get away from the Caribbean styled food, go to this hidden gem atop of the hill of Hudishibana at the foot of Aruba’s famous California Lighthouse Landmark. For over 20 years Faro Blanco Restaurant has been offering Aruba and it’s guests the best of Italy in Aruba. As the only restaurant boasting this unique location, guests can enjoy a truly unspoiled view over Aruba’s west coast untouched nature. The sunset and views over Aruba create a spectacular palette of colors, ideal for taking pictures and creating new and long lasting memories. This is definitely a must in Aruba.

Things to Do:

Jolly Pirates Cruises

Probably the one of the best activities on the island! There are three separate cruises: Sail, Snorkel, Swim & Swing (4 hrs) or Afternoon Snorkel Adventure (3 hrs) & Jolly Pirate Sunset Sail (2 hrs). We always did the four hour one which left super early in the morning at 9am. It’s a blast, plus an open bar! Looks like now they do lunch, which makes me want to go back again soon! Banana Boat Ride

This is something you at least do one time while you visit Aruba. It’s totally insane but fun at the same time. This thrilling ride accommodates groups up to twelve persons. Comfortably seated on a twin-banana, you will experience the excitement of bouncing on the waves behind one of our fast motorboats. Duration per ride is approximately 25 minutes…get ready for the action! Besides lots of fun, banana boat riding is also a great sightseeing water tour! Parasailing

Enjoy a Panoramic View of Aruba! If you have never been parasailing before, it’s so much fun! My first time was in Aruba, and I was scared at first, but once I got in the air, I felt like I was floating. The views were awesome and the water is so blue that you can see how clear it is from the top. It’s 10-12 min flight over 400-600 ft of water.  You can either do single rider or double, which my best friend & I did since we were both scared at in the beginning. Safari Jeep Tour

Experience the wild untamed countryside of Aruba, through rocky gorges, seaside cliffs, caves and wave- tossed beaches. They will lead you to the Caves and Baby Beach in the Jeep Caravan! We did the Natural Pool safari tour, where can go ahead and jump off the cliffs into the pool! It was a blast and a must while you are in Aruba. Rent an ATV

If you want to experience Aruba on your own, make sure you rent an ATV! This is definitely something you should do if you want to see more of local Aruba. For more info visit: https://www.delphiwatersports.com

Join the gaming fun at Stellaris Casino, Aruba’s largest casino, with its around the clock entertainment options.Enjoy a premier gaming experience in a Vegas-style at the hopping Stellaris Casino, open 24 hours and located at a luxuriously renovated Aruba Marriott Resort in Palm Beach.

Tan & Relax

Last but not least, make sure you ENJOY the sun! Aruba is situated 12 degrees 30′ north of the equator. The weather is tropical but not extreme, with a median and fairly constant temperature of 82 degrees Fahrenheit (28 degrees Celsius). Trade winds cool the island, making lying in the sun on one of the many beaches much more tolerable although care should be taken since this is deceptive – the sun is strong, in particular between 11am and 2:30pm and the use of high-SPF sunscreens is strongly recommended especially for fairer-skinned people. You may not think it is hot outside but it is, and someone like me who is fair skinned can get burnt easily! But I will say I got the most tan in Aruba ever in my life. So lets hope now you are about to book your next flight to Aruba!
