10 Photo Spots in Barcelona!

Bunker Del Carmel

What is the Bunkers del Carmel? A number of old underground military bunkers that offer the best view of the city. I took the metro to Alfons X then walked about a 20 minute hike to my photo spot, but more better views are another 20 minute hike above me. If I wasn’t so tired from traveling all day, then I would have gone farther up. Today, the bunkers are said to be one of Barcelona’s best-kept secrets, although they are becoming an increasingly popular spot to visit. Besides their fascinating history, the best reason to visit the bunkers is that they offer the most incredible panoramic views of the city, enabling you to see all the major landmarks and monuments at once. At dusk, locals and tourists alike gather at the bunkers to watch the sun set over the city while playing music, enjoying picnics, taking pictures, and simply taking in the jaw-dropping view.

Magic Fountain of Montjuïc

I went to the fountain before the evening when there wasn’t a show, but I hear the show is the most amazing spectacles of Barcelona and it’s free of charge! There are several performances featuring music from The Godfather, Disney movies, Star Wars, E.T, Lord of the Rings and the most awaited one, with the music of “Barcelona” by Freddie Mercury and Montserrat Caballé. I wish I had more time to explore the area of Montjuïc because there were about another nine other things to see and do! Definitely have to go back to Barcelona.

Park Güell

Park Güell is one of the most important sights in Barcelona and one of Gaudi’s masterpieces. Gaudi planned and directed the construction of the park from 1900 to 1914 for Eusebi Güell for a residential park intended for sixty single- family residences. The project, however, was unsuccessful and the park became city property in 1923. Though never fully completed, it still remains one of Gaudi’s most colorful and playful works. The entrance fee is 13 Euros.

The entrance fee gives access to the area of the of the park where the majority of Gaudí’s creations are situated. These include the ceramic seating areas, ceramic walls and the pillars seating area pillars. I ordered my ticket online which was the smartest choice plus I picked the 8am entrance time where it would not be the busiest. Make sure you have enough time to go through the park, I only had an hour so I definitely would want to go back someday.

Arc de Triomf de Barcelona

Arc de Triomphe in Barcelona was built as the main entrance (main gate) of the world exhibition of 1888, held in the Park of the Citadel or Ciutadella. Since then, arch has become strongly associated with the architecture of the city and joined the list of sights of Barcelona. It is something you should see while in Barcelona. Also one of the most touristy stops in the city.

Parc de la Ciutadella

This is Barcelona’s biggest park, and one the favorite spots for tourists and locals alike. Its name comes from the great military citadel that King Felipe V ordered to be built 1715. The locals often take time our to relax in this park. It has everything you could hope for in a park, and much more too- large open areas of lawns, a beautiful monumental fountain, a lake, the city’s zoo and even Catalunya’s parliament.

Casa Paco

Casa Paco is about a 10 minute walk from Parc de la Ciutadella. This spot is great to stop to take a photo and have some lunch.

Gothic Quarter

The Gothic Quarter, or Barrio Gotico, is at the heart of Barcelona’s old city, and plays host to some of the most beautiful historic sights the city has to offer. It has narrow medieval streets filled with trendy bars, clubs and Catalan restaurants. The Museu d’Història de Barcelona shows remains of the Roman city. Artisans sell leather and jewelry near the Cathedral of Barcelona, while flower stalls and street-food vendors line busy avenue La Rambla. The Plaça del Pi, named after the adjacent Gothic church, hosts a weekend art market.

Barcelona’s Alleys

You can find many narrow alleys through out Barcelona. It’s better to take some photos there especially when there is less people around.

Hotel Rooftop

Any hotel that has a rooftop pool and bar is perfect just to do a photoshoot! The hotel is called SB Plaza Europa which was only 10 mins from the airport and booked it through Hotels.com for less than $100 a night. My swimsuit is from Cupshe for only $30.

El Arbol Brunch

For all you foodies out there, this place was amazing. The interior has tables with swings as chairs. The address is: Carrer del Consell de Cent, 252, 08011 Barcelona, Spain
