Better Than Sex: It’s Valentine’s Day All The Time

What’s better than sex? Better Than Sex of course! If this is your the first time hearing about this delicious restaurant then you are in for a treat. Better Than Sex is a restaurant that features their desserts in a intimate speakeasy-like atmosphere. No where else has rimmed chocolate and caramel covered wines, beers, and house-made cocktails. Unlike any other restaurants, their tables have some level of privacy with a wall or curtain in between most of them. Being inspired by traveling to The Keys, Owners Dani & Len Johnson started Better Than Sex in Key West in 2008. In 2010 Better Than Sex was featured on the Travel Channel which increased their exposure that by 2012 the owners knew the small restaurant in Key West needed a bigger location. On December 26th, 2015 they opened a second location in Orlando. Since they both met in Orlando waiting tables together, it made sense to open a location in their hometown. 

One month after opening their second restaurant, I was working for Orlando Weekly Magazine at the time and was asked to be the promo model for their grand opening. That night was when I fell in love with the restaurant trying their signature dessert called “Between My Red Velvet Sheets” and their signature wine called the “Klimax.” A year later I was asked to photograph their one year anniversary. Since then I grew a wonderful friendship with Owners Dani & Len Johnson, Managing Partner Tia Marquinez, General Manager/Kitchen Manager Jordan Wilson & all the other staff members. Everyone is wonderful, and they make sure you are satisfied by the end of the night.

Within the last five years Better Than Sex has opened in Savannah, Plano, Los Angeles, and other locations in the works! Better Than Sex has been so popular that it is usually booked for at least a whole month! Make sure you make reservations and check out their website here.
