25 Things To Do During Quarantine

25 Things To Do During Quarantine

  • Netflix & Wine: This is probably the most obvious thing to do during down time. Netflix is definitely great during this time because now you can catch up on your shows and watch new shows that you have been meaning to start. If you need some suggestions, I do recommend: “Cable Girls”,”Money Heist”,”Virgin River”,”Outer Banks”,”Ozark”, and “The Valhalla Murders” for tv shows.
  • Workout: Since gyms and any other fitness centers are closed, we will lose the motivation to workout. Just because you can’t go anywhere doesn’t mean you can’t download a free app to start doing workouts at home. Many companies like Body FX, Beach Body, and Jillian Michaels have free subscriptions to try for two weeks to a month. I personally watch my tv shows while I work out since it keeps me going for hours.
  • Organize Every Single Room: This is one of my favorite things to do when I have downtime. Every room (bathroom, closet, office, kitchen, and even the trunk of your car) has clutter just sitting there and you never have the time to clean it up. During this quarantine, I went through every room for about an hour and organized everything. I am making sure I do this every four to six months so I can keep my place tidy.
  • Craft: Here are 11 examples of crafting during quarantine: brewing, sewing, painting, knitting, jewelry-making, drawing, candle-making, embroidery, pottery and sculpting, gardening, and tie-dye.
  • Learn How To Cook: People who have hectic schedules don’t usually cook because they are tired when they get home. During quarantine, you really have no other option unless you can live on tv dinners for months. Don’t know how to cook? Hello Fresh, Freshly and Every Plate are my favorite meal delivery services. Every Plate would be the inexpensive side of Hello Fresh for only $38 a week. Freshly are gourmet style tv dinners that are just ready to heat up in the microwave. I used Freshly once in awhile when I don’t feel like cooking. These services have helped me learn how to cook better each time.
  • Take Up a New Hobby: This is the perfect time to take up a new hobby! Have you ever wanted to learn photography? Well lucky for you, I have a free mini online course on How to Take a Self Portrait with your phone or DSLR camera and you can find it here. Other hobbies include: dancing, knitting, writing, drawing, sewing, cooking, and etc.
  • Read A New Book: I am not much of a reader but I’ve learned how to love audio books. I’ve been reading more lately than ever in my life. If you need some suggestions, I highly suggest: “Girl, Stop Apologizing”, “Everything is Figureoutable”, “You Do You,” and “Last One Down The Aisle Wins.” I still have a long list of books I need to read and I’ll probably add some more to this list later!
  • Organize Closet by Seasons: Yes this one is my favorite! Take the time to go through all of your clothes and see what still fits. Sometimes I even throw out anything I haven’t even worn more than once. Give all those clothes away to Goodwill. Then you can organize everything by seasons. I even organize mine by colors as well!
  • Sign Up for Online College: Have you thought about going back to school but never had the time? Well here is your chance to sign up for those online classes and get a new degree.
  • Clean House: You should always be cleaning your place weekly but sometimes you don’t have time to get to the nitty gritty areas. This is the perfect time to do it, and make your home squeaky clean!
  • Start A New Daily Routine: This is something I am always working on. I know during these times you will want to just stay in bed. But I am here to tell you when you have a productive day, you will feel better. I keep a list of things I need to get done each month, and the those things I work on each day one by one. Just focus on taking the time to workout for thirty minutes and get one thing done on the list.
  • Mediate: Stretching or yoga each day will help with stress during these times. Just take fifteen minutes out of your day and you will be relaxed. It will help boost your immune system.

  • Start an Online Business: Starting a blog isn’t the only online business for a side hustle. You can start leaning how to become a social media consultant, a virtual assistant, create an online store, and create an online course to name a few. It depends on what you think would make a great profitable business to earn enough income.
  • Garden: Thinking about always having your own garden but never have the time? Well now it’s the time to take action and plant some seeds! Landscaping is the best activity to do doing this time. If you don’t have a yard, you can always buy a pot of plants and put them on your porch, balcony or patio.
  • Re-decorate: Always wanted to paint or rearrange rooms but never had the time? Well lucky this is the time to do it. It’s fun to get into an artsy side and get those creative juices flowing for some inspiration!
  • Start a TikTok: TikTok may be too young for the older generation but if you are really bored enough, you should start one. I have one to use for fitness, beauty and dancing but I don’t have the time to use it that much. It’s very time consuming and it takes you hours to learn the dances. Even just watching TikTok will make time pass. No one will judge you if you get one.
  • Throw Out Old Makeup: If you are like me, you never realize how much makeup you own because you are a hoarder with it! I am always buying new makeup not realizing about the old makeup stuffed back in your cabinets of your bathroom. This is a good time to go through all your expired makeup and throw it out!
  • Get a Tan: If you have access to a pool or balcony, then it’s a great time to get some sun! You don’t want to be locked in your home forever. So take that time to layout and get a tan.
  • Learn a New Language: Are you a traveler like me and always visiting countries but don’t even know the language? Or work in an environment that a second language could benefit you? This is the time to learn! I use the Duolingo app and it’s absolutely free! I started learning Spanish on it and it’s helped me a lot!
  • Unsubscribe From Emails: Don’t you hate getting junk emails? Well this is the time to unsubscribe from all those unnecessary emails each day.
  • Have Your Own Spa Day: Give yourself some me time. Get some bath bombs, candles, a face mask and make yourself a bubble bath. Need a recommendation for a mask? My favorite charcoal mask you can get here.
  • FaceTime Your Friends & Family: Stay at home orders can last months, and if you don’t have family or friends that live close by, then definitely FaceTime them because who knows when you will see them next.
  • Take A Nap: Just because you are home, doesn’t mean you can’t rest. Taking naps are actually healthy for you. I usually take an hour a nap depending how busy my day. Daytime sleeping from 15-90 minutes a day can actually improve brain functions ranging from memory to focus to creativity. So yes all those years taking nap time in school was just preparing us for when we were adults!
  • Plan Your Next Vacation: I am always planning my next trip. This is the time to google search on places you want to visit and when the best time to go. I usually keep a word document on when flights are the cheapest and seasons are the best for the trip. Remember each country is different. There are dry and wet seasons, so you got to do your research before you book it.
